UNFPA, United Nations Population Fund aimed to promote reflection on the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community in a context where, after the World Cup in Qatar, it became evident that there is still a long way to go.
The purpose was to reflect on something that no one had reflected on before: why a person from the LGBTIQ+ community has to come out of the closet as a social mandate while we all have the same rights to live our gender identity and sexual orientation, without discrimination, without violence and without having to give explanations to anyone.
With the purpose of generating cultural relevance about these rights, we created the art exhibition "Deconstructed Closets".
The peculiarity of the exhibition is that it is composed of murals made out of the destruction of closets, one of the main icons of the social pressure that the LGBTIQ+ community is submitted to.
